What Do You Know About Belarus?

January 18th, 2019

Belarus has a population of almost 10 million people! Belarus is between Poland and Russia; it is made up of several religions.

The people of Belarus love cheese and potatoes! They make delicious meals with all kinds of cheese and even make pancakes out of potatoes. They claim their food is one of the top five reasons to visit their country.

The most important national holiday they celebrate is Freedom Day on May 9th. This is the end of the German occupation in their country during WWII.

Belarus has a green stripe on its flag because 40% of the country is covered in forests!

Belarus has some religious freedom but the Government has restricted it to a point. They have enforced laws on worship, speech, and assembly. It is not as easy to acquire a Visa for Belarus as it is for other countries in Europe. There are several missionaries already in Belarus. We have found around fifteen baptist churches in Belarus but there may be more we do not know of. Will you pray for Belarus this week? Fifteen known churches will not be enough for nearly ten million people. Pray with us that laborers will be raised and the Gospel will spread throughout Belarus!
